Fortitude

Some seasons, walking the way God has directed for you to walk is easier than other seasons. It is much easier hearing what He said than actually walking out what He said. Sometimes He ceases to speak because He has already spoken and we are being required to walk out what He spoke. I believe some are in this season now and I want to offer you encouragement today.

Whatever season you are in now, let me encourage you to choose rightly. Choose faith. Choose the Spirit's leadership. Choose to speak life. Resist going your own way. Resist complaining. Your faith has a great reward. Perhaps none of us will fully see that reward in this life, but I am convinced that the present sufferings are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)

The word fortitude is a word that keeps coming up in my spirit. Look at Webster's definition of the word fortitude. Fortitude: That strength or firmness of mind which enables a person to encounter danger with coolness and courage, or to bear pain or adversity without murmuring, depression, or despondency. Nave's Topical Bible lists the word fortitude as courage. Proverbs 28:1 says, "The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion."

Look at Philippians 1:27-28, "Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God."God has called you. That call has not changed. Take courage today and do not lose heart. Hold on to Him! He is making you stronger. Keep choosing His Spirit and He will continue to perfect you!
